Day 28 (Fri March 26): Nothing

Turns out Oscar didn't actually call in the inspection on Thursday like he said he would, supposedly because his workers didn't show up. This despite me giving him a check on Wednesday evening to avert exactly this scenario. I asked him to be sure this kind of thing doesn't happen again, but I'm limited in how much leverage I have. (He has this big restaurant remodel in San Marcos that his guys seem itching to start work on). He tried calling it in today but he needs some kind of code which was missing in the permit paperwork that Scott was given. No-one was able to actually go into the City and of course they don't answer phones down there, so now we have to wait until Monday to sort it out and Tuesday at the earliest before the inspector arrives. There's nothing Oscar can do until the new interior framing, exterior wall, and subflooring are approved. Meanwhile, the clock's a ticking.
